As principal and founder, Doug Malecki combines his creative keen eye with the curiosity of a scientist to approach clients with open mind. As a native Brazilian, fascination with free-flowing, sensual curves and all things creative started at an early age. Doug's background in biophysics makes evidence-based research, sustainability, and strong integration of indoor and outdoor his approaches to how to design. He has experience in many aspects of the industry including hospitality.
Fluent in GIF and wine connoisseur (he drinks too many bottles he can't pronounce), Doug loves live music concerts, crafts and scouring antiques, vintage, and thrift stores for hidden gems.
The collaboration here was seamless. Doug's enthusiam and confidence were able to align with the goal of this project without burden. My requests were: to honor two heirloom pieces inherited from one of my grandparents, and to source as sustainable as possible. Since this was a downsize, I particularly adored how my sculptural room divider turned into a headboard. Loved how playful yet grounded this collaboration turned out
