Da'at

Hidden in the story of Adam and Eve is one of the most elegant euphemisms for sexual awakening. In the Garden of ‘Earthly Delights’, G’d designates one tree off limits, and warns them never to touch it. The forbidden fruit, da’at (customarily translated as "knowledge", Hebrew: דעת), is nothing less than a charming allegory of sexual knowledge. This work-inspired collection is a reflection of the sexual yearnings stirring in man’s bodies and souls. Through a series of microscopy photographs of developing prostates this work sought to reject puritanical heritage and taboos enveloping and controlling our sex organs
Most of us assume that male sex organs are outside and female organs on the inside. Chief among the internal male reproductive glands is the prostate, an overlooked, unnoticed and neglected sexual organ. The organ second most vulnerable to cancer in men, the prostate is a treasure trove of sexual pleasure that, perhaps for homophobic tendencies, goes untapped. Very accomplished work by G.R. Cunha, Ph.D. (Urology, UCSF) showed that female development is a default pathway due to absence of testosterone. Through in vitro embryonic tissue recombination Dr. Cunha showed that, in the total absence of testosterone, urogenital grafts give origin to vaginal plates, instead of prostate (Cunha et al., BOR 22:19-42, 1980)
“You are not going to die, but G’d knows that as soon as you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like divine beings who know good and evil (Genesis 3:2-7, 23)”
